Hector X. Lopez Sr.
Hector X. Lopez Sr. "Papa", Age 92, late of Romeoville passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, moved to United States in the 1940's, resided in Chicago, IL. and moved to Romeoville in 1963. Member of the Lockport and Joliet Tennis Clubs, and he was a dedicated volunteer with the I Care Mission International. Hector was an avid Tennis and Racket ball player and enjoyed swimming. He was a great role model for his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Ann (nee Baranowski) Lopez; one son, Hector Xavier Lopez; his parents, Xavier and Maria Del Rosario (nee Zacarias) Lopez; and stepson, Aquila Darrell Scaggs.
Survived by his five children, Diane (Ed) Traczyk, Richard (Kathy) Lopez, Pamela (Benny) Gonzales, Fran Constanzo and Jeff (Kathy) Scaggs; many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers, Hazael, Obed, Efraim and Omar Lopez; three sisters, Deborah Lopez, Priscila Rivera and Noemi Santos. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the I Care Mission International or Lightways Hospice in Hector's name would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 in the O'Neil Funeral Home chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 10:00am until 12:00noon. Interment immediately following visitation at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.

Hector was a great guy. He enjoyed our Breakfast Club for many years. Always loved catching up on the major tennis news with him. He will be missed.
