James Davis Waddell, affectionately known as Curtis was born July 21, 1960 in Lexington, MS to Curtis Brown and Annie Mae Waddell.
Curtis attended Joliet Public Schools and attended Joliet Central High School.
Curtis was a very strong willed individual, he loved animals and was especially fond of his family.
Curtis worked in the manufacturing industry as an assembly line worker.
Curtis was preceded in death by his son, Keon Kelly; mother, Annie M. Cohill; two brothers, Clayborn Banks and Raymond Waddell; and niece, Sharida Riley.
Curtis passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL.
Curtis is survived by his son, De'Mario Waddell; sisters, Brenda (Cleotha) Dixon of Lexington, MS and Betty J. Milam of Joliet, IL; grandchildren, Ke'Mari Kelly, Keon Kelly, Jr., Keondre Kelly and Ma'La'yah Marble; special nieces, Helen Banks, Kadijah Banks, and Athena Banks; special nephews, Charles Williams, David Williams and James Anderson; uncle, Earl Waddell; special aunt, Beatrice Redmond; special friends, Addie Holmes and Ronald "Bone" Hamilton; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. John M.B. Church, 104 E. Zarley Blvd., Joliet, IL. Service at 11:00 AM, Pastor R.H. Wilder, Sr., officiating. Private Interment.
