John Guenard Obituary
John J. Guenard
Age 94, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30,2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Manhattan, New York, moving to Chicago in 1953 and residing in Lockport since 1978.
Retired from Renolds Aluminum in 1994 after 22 years of service and in 2016 from Lockport Health Club after 20 years. Member of Grace Baptist Church, Lockport. A United States Korean War Army Veteran. Lifetime member of the Lockport Township Health Club. John enjoyed jogging, weightlifting and traveling with his daughter Jenny, but most of all spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Williametta Irene (Neehouse) Guenard (2017); his grandsons, Daniel Lietke (2014) and Eugene Guenard (2021); parents, Armond and Mildred (Blessing) Guenard. John was the last of his 13 siblings.
Survived by his children, Jenny (Ed) Lietke-Lovett, William Guenard and Michael (Chrissy Schram) Guenard; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandsons and his beloved dog Millie.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME, 1105 E 9th ST. (159th ST.), Lockport. Interment Fairmont Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs. Uncle John was our mom's favorite brother and mine and my sisters favorite Uncle. So many treasured memories spent with him, Aunt Irene, Jenny, Will and Michael growing up. After becoming an adult he and Aunt Irene would surprise me and my boys by coming to visit us in Mattoon IL. They loved eating at the Cracker Barrel. You will forever be adored and missed .

John was the kindest man of all and I always enjoyed being in his company. He was always fun to be around and had a calming way about him. I loved coming over to the house to play games, share some laughs and spend time with him and Irene. He and Irene would come over to my Mom's, go apple picking, help her with her garage sales, and we would come over to help them with theirs in return. He was a wonderful grandfather to Michael, and all of his grandkids. My sincerest heartfelt condolences to Mike, Will and Jenny, and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. May he now rest in Peace.
