John Robert Jensen, age 62 of Puryear, TN, died Thursday, June 3, 2021, at his residence.
John was born May 14, 1959, in Joilet, IL, to the late Robert R. Jensen and the late Helen A. Zajac Jensen.
John grew up in Joliet, IL wear he graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1977. After high school, he played football for Carroll College in Helena, MT.
He worked for 35 years for Com-Ed in Illinois, starting as a lineman, and then moved up to supervisor and crew leader. He retired in 2019 and moved to Henry County, TN. John was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. He was a member of the Paris Community Bible Church.
He was married May 7, 2008, to Wanda L. Morris Jensen, who survives, of Puryear, TN.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Kristin (Joe) Menzione of Lombard, IL, and Hunter Jensen of Joilet, IL; one son, Travis Jensen of Joilet, IL; two sisters, Lynn Schwab and Patricia Beaudry; two brothers, James Jensen and Richard Jensen; two grandchildren, Tessa Menzione and Joey Menzione; and best friend, Ricky Thayer.
A Celebration of Life for John Jensen will be held on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Joliet First Assembly Church, 1741 Essington Rd. Joliet, IL 60435.

Jenson Family,
Sorry to hear the passing of John. I have fond memories of John at JCHS. John was a good friend, I am sorry we did not stay in touch over the years after JCHS 77. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.
