Died: December 5, 2018; in Joliet, IL
Jose W. Valencia, age 67, passed away peacefully December 5th surrounded by family. Born in New Albany Indiana; February 24th 1951.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cyndi (Guerra) Valencia; his children, William (Meghan) Valencia, James Valencia, Marybeth (Mohammad) Ahamed, Jonquil (Larry) Chason, Robert Valencia, and Stephanie Jordon-Marie Valencia; sister, Shan (Craig) Stout of New Lenox; brother, Stephen Valencia of Bolingbrook; mother-in-law, Joyce (the late George "Giggy") Johnston; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jose O. and Edith I. (Ernest) Valencia.
Jose was a graduate of Lockport West High school class of 1970; his favorite pastime was playing golf, the great outdoors, coaching, supporting and cheering his kids in sports, and watching his grandchildren grow.
Family and friends are welcomed to his visitation ceremony on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Anderson Memorial Home, 21131 W. Renwick Rd., Cresthill, IL 60403. Funeral Friday, December 14th 2018 at 10:00 am, at Funeral Home, Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, American Heart Association, St Jude or Shriners Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
