Kathleen Marie Schmitz
Age 61, a lifelong Joliet resident, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, surrounded by family at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center.
Kathy was born July 24, 1961 to the late Elizabeth (Schaar) and William J. Schmitz. She attended Holy Family Grade School and graduated from St. Francis Academy.
Surviving are her sister, Sharon (Paul) Frausto and brother, Michael (Lynne) Schmitz as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, William B. (Victoria) Schmitz and sister, Deborah (Jerry) Mosher.
"Chatty Kathy" as she was known to many, was employed at Touchpoint Logistics and previously worked for Mark Shale/AL Baskin as a Warehouse Manager for many years.
Kathy will long be remembered for her love of life and her passion for puzzles and Halloween. She had proudly earned the titles of "Halloween Queen" and "Witchy Woman". October 31st will never be the same without her.
Although she will be deeply missed, her family is relieved she's been released from the discomfort and health hardships she just couldn't overcome. May her fun-loving nature and kind spirit remain with all who loved her.
As it was Kathy's wish cremation rites have been accorded.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. A prayer service will begin at 8 p.m.
Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to Lightways Hospice of Joliet.
