Michael "Mike" W. Hutter
Michael "Mike" W. Hutter, age 75, passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord at home with his family at his side on Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Mike was born on November 13, 1946, to William and Rita (nee Vollmer) Hutter. He attended St. Johns Grade School and Joliet Central, class of 1965. Mike was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a meat cutter for 40 years at Eagle's, Cub Foods, and Ultra Foods. In retirement he enjoyed camping, golfing, rooting for the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Mike was always available when his family needed his help and expertise. He adored his four grandchildren and loved being a Papa. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1080 and worked tirelessly on many golf outings, which he enjoyed immensely. You will be greatly missed Dad, see you later Allegator, after while Crocodile! God Bless!
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy Hutter; children, Kim Oster, Kevin (April) Hutter, and Kristopher Hutter; grandchildren, Faith Oster, Zander, Vera, and Walter Hutter; sisters, Sue Marcus, and Kathi (Mike) Cook as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Carol (Nick) Noyla; sister-in-law, Donna (Dave) Jones; brother-in-law's, Tom (Mouse) Moniger and John Marcus; son-in-law, Scott Oster.
Visitation for Mike will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, 604 N. Raynor Ave., Joliet on Thursday March 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Donations can be made in his honor to Lightways Hospice or a charity of your choice.
