Michael C. Voss, born January 8, 1946, died September 22, 2016 from complications of pneumonia.
He is survived by Marcia K.Voss, his wife of 26 years; his son, Tony Voss; his daughter-in-law, Jyme Voss; his brother, James (Lynn) Voss; his two step-daughters, Julie and Laura Puddicombe. He leaves to mourn his loss his two cherished grandchildren, Xander and Libby as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Moran Voss; his Uncle, Frank Moran; his sister, Dale; and his nephew, John.
Mike proudly served in the Army with the 854th Transportation Company in Viet Nam from 1965 to 1967.
Mike's many interests included creating stained glass hangings and kaleidoscopes. He studied the night sky and created gorgeous cottage gardens in his back yard. Trips to Anna Maria Island, FL, afforded him new things to marvel: sea birds, sea turtles, shark's teeth and the ever-changing ocean. Fishing, especially with his grandson, Xander, was another favorite.
Books on top of books, movies on top of movies - he could never get enough of any of them. To quote one of his favorite movie cowboys, John Wayne remarked: "Tomorrow hopes we have learned something from yesterday."
A Memorial honoring Mike's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1st at 2:00 PM at LifeSpring Church in Plainfield.
In lieu of flowers, consider giving to Mike's favorite charity: New Life For Haiti P.O. Box 33, Plainfield, IL 60544 or online at newlifeforhaiti.org This is a 100% volunteer charity, and all monies go directly to the children and the school being built there.

It is still difficult to grasp that Mike is gone. I will always remember visiting Mike and Marcia on Anna Maria Island. It was an honor to sit by his bedside for so many days, and I will be forever grateful that I was the recipient of his last smile. Sleep well, dear friend.
