Pauline Clare Rasmussen, 84, of Plainfield, IL, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Plainfield. Pauline was born on March 24, 1941, in Chicago, IL, to the late Francis and Lillian Strumski. She was a graduate of Maria High School in Chicago, and throughout her life she was known for being kind, loving, and thoughtful. Pauline shared more than 50 wonderful years with her late husband, Jerry, with whom she enjoyed traveling, and cherished the journeys they took together. Pauline was a devout Catholic who was very active in her parish. She greatly valued time spent with her friends at the Troy Township Senior Center playing cards and enjoying lunch. She also found joy in gardening, golf, reading, puzzles, and games. She was always happiest when gathered around a table with family and friends for fun and conversation.
Pauline treasured time spent with those she loved. Family was always at the center of her life, and she took great pride and comfort in the closeness they shared. Whether it was a quiet afternoon visit or a lively family gathering, Pauline's gentle presence and warm spirit were constants that will be deeply missed.
Pauline is survived by her children, Marilyn (Scott Stewart) Rasmussen, Michael (Lisa) Rasmussen, Maureen (Lance) Robinson, Mark (Christy) Rasmussen, Eric (Cori) Rasmussen; grandchildren, Lauren (Jeremy) Pasterz, Matthew (Janique) Robinson, Jessica Robinson, Meagan Rasmussen, Steven Rasmussen, Chance Rasmussen and Jordyn Rasmussen; one great-granddaughter, Aurora Robinson; sister, Carol McNamara; and her nephew, Frank McNamara.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry; and her parents.
Funeral Services for Pauline Clare Rasmussen will begin with prayers at 9:45 a.m., on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, and will process to Holy Family Catholic Church, Shorewood, IL, where a mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Joliet. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the funeral home from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
