Rita Ann Kline, 74, of Marseilles, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were private at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
She was born August 21, 1944, in Ottawa, to William and Glenna (Rentz) Smith. In 1963, she married Harry G. Kline of Marseilles who preceded her in death in 2005.
Rita was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marseilles. Rita loved her horses, riding and caring for them and being in the outdoors. She was an avid gardener, she always had a large garden and beautiful plants and flowers. She was a wonderful mother and grandma and a great cook and baker.
She is survived by three sons, Brandon (Christina) of Marseilles, Justin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Tyson of Marseilles; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, William (Peggy) Smith of Florida and Dennis (Lucille) Smith of Arizona.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; one sister, Linda Manning; and two brothers, Buddy and Larry Smith.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donors' choice.

Rita was my safe place. My soft place to fall and she would always catch me with all of the love and reason she had in her. She always saw both sides of every fence and gave birth to the love of my life. I know she will be one of many waiting for me with open arms when I get where I'm going someday.
