Age 56 of Rockdale, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.
Born October 13, 1965 in Joliet, IL, Bob was a son of Arthur "Bud" and Barbara J. (Née Alexander) Meyer. He was raised in the Joliet area.
Bob was dedicated in the trades as a roofer for over 28 years, and in the past eleven years was a bar tender for Sheps in Rockdale.
He was an avid golfer and a diehard Chicago Bears and White Sox fan.
In Bob's free time, he had fun and loved spending time with his children and grandbabies. He loved his family and friends unconditionally, enjoyed helping people and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was the best man his children have ever known.
Survivors include his children; Crystal (Eric) Cast and Robert W. Meyer, Jr., grandchildren; Rylie and Kenneth Meyer and Taylor Cast, brother; Greg (Trish Nichols) Meyer, sister-in-law; Shirley Etheridge, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless great friends; too many to mention.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur and Barbara Meyer, granddaughter; Brooke Cast, and brothers; Chuck Meyer and Dale Etheridge.
A visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:15 p.m. at Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, 1500 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
Per Bob's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded., and he will be laid to rest in Elmhurst Cemetery, Joliet, IL near his granddaughter at a later date.
