Roland H. Millington

Roland H. "Mick" Millington, age 67, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Born in Gary, Indiana, and a Joliet area resident for the past 15 years.

A graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a graduate of Emerson High School, Gary, Indiana, Class of 1964. A U.S Air Force Vietnam Veteran.

A member of Cantigny Post VFW #367, where he served as a Quartermaster for the past two years. He was a devoted volunteer at Cantigny Post, who worked tirelessly for many Cantigny functions, especially the pancake breakfasts. Mick also assisted in facilitating memberships and could always be found on six corners on Poppy Day. He was a foster parent to "Little People in Fur Coats" for West Suburban Humane Society in Downers Grove, Illinois for over 25 years.

Preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Agnes Millington; and his special and loving aunt, Marian Marasco with whom he shared his birthday.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Janice A. Millington of Joliet; two sons, Roland M. (Cari) and Rodney W. (Mary) Millington; one granddaughter, Elizabeth; two sisters, Marlene (Ronald) Goldstein and Kathlene Millington; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Mick's life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Cantigny Post #367, 826 Horseshoe Drive, Joliet. As it was Mick's request, Cremation Rites have been accorded.
