Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, July 17, 1943, she passed away peacefully at her home in Shorewood, IL, United States with her loving family by her side at 8:20pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the age of 77. She was a light that came into the world and shined so brightly.
Survived by her five children and their significant others; Warren and Anne-Marie, Sophia, Mederana and Alfredo, Warick, Sharanda and Jason, grandchildren; Jahna, Jahson, Kalilah, Kalil, Shaniyah, Nikolai, Esther-Daniel, Nathaneia, Joseph-Beniah, Dinero, Mahali, Ariyanna, Kimico, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, cousins and friends, Arlene and her children Jacqueline, Gimchoy, Theo, Zabel. All of these, and many more, she loved and touched deeply.
Shirley, affectionately known as "Sixteen plus Tax", enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley built her family home in Lily Putt in Montego Bay, Jamaica with the help of her children. Shirley, an avid gardener, fed her household with the various fruits and vegetables she planted on her property.
She worked at Sangster International Airport for 19 and a half years. After retiring she migrated to America and lived with her daughter Sharanda the remainder of her years.
