Died: December 16, 2025 in Lemont, IL
A member of the School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King (Lemont Franciscans) for 71 years, passed into eternity on December 16, 2025. Born in Chicago, IL on March 19, 1933, she was given the name Mary Domovich. Sister taught in and administered a number of parish schools in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Joliet and at Mt. Assisi Academy in Lemont.
She was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Louise (Winters) Domovich and her siblings Frances, Frank, William, Ann Kudulis, Raymond. George, Steve, Martin, Rose, Joseph, Charles, and Edward. She is survived by nephews and nieces Glenn (Bernie), Ken Kudulis, Joan Kudulis, Peggy Ensenberger, Valarie Smycz, Debbie Hogan, and Martin Domovich as well as many grand nieces and nephews, friends, colleagues, and her religious Sisters.
Visitation will take place at the Mount Assisi Convent Chapel (Lemont) on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Mount Assisi Convent Chapel at 11:00 a.m. and burial will take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Lemont following the liturgy.

Sr. Goretti was a wonderful friend and co worker. I we worked with her at St. Mary Nativity School in the late 80's -early 90's. She taught me so much about teaching and life. I loved coming to work every day just to talk with her! She was a beautiful lady!
May She rest in peace.

Sr Maria Goretti was my 8th grade teacher at St Mary Nativity Joliet 1989-90. I have fond memories of her especially her joyful smile! She had a wonderful sense of humor which I´m sure helped her get through days with crazy middle school students. As I reflect on my 8th grade year with her, I truly believe she loved teaching our class! See photo for proof. May her soul rest in peace.
