Steve Perona Obituary
Born: August 12, 1949 in Spring Valley, IL
Died: March 13, 2025 in Toluca, IL
It is with great sadness that the family of Steve Anton Perona announced his passing. Steve, a resident of Toluca, peacefully departed this life at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday March 13, 2025, at the age of 75 at his son's home in Toluca surrounded by family and friends. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be at held 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 1st at Toluca Lanes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Shoot for the Cure" fundraiser benefiting breast cancer services in the Peoria area. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Toluca is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steve was born on August 12, 1949, in Spring Valley, IL, the son of Peter and Doris Rennau Perona. He attended school in Toluca. He married Joan Wenzel and together they had a son, Todd. Surviving are his son Todd Perona of Toluca, a brother Pete (Lois) Perona of Fort Wayne, IN, a sister Katherine (Bob) Halleran of Royalton, IL and a brother Andy (Michelle) Hull of Centralia, IL, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved grandson, Nathan. Lovingly referred to as Papa by his grandson, Steve had a special bond with Nathan who was his pride and joy.
Steve was a master builder for over forty years, owning his own business. He along with Todd and numerous employees built and remodeled many homes and businesses in the Toluca area.
An avid outdoorsman, Steve found joy fishing, hunting, and especially trap shooting with his son Todd. He also raised pigeons, enjoying their diversity and beauty.
Steve will be loved, missed, and remembered always.

My thoughts are with you in your time of grief. I have always enjoyed conversation with Steve.
His knowledge of guns and fishing were very good.
I can also remember we li ed close together growing up. The pick up games were always enjoyed. I will miss conversation, enjoying a beer plus his laughter and great smile. Rest in peace Ken Pozzie
