Suzanne Wright Obituary

Suzanne M. Wright
Sue M. Wright died peacefully on November 24, 2025, at Franciscan Health Hospital, after a brief but sudden illness. She was born October 26, 1936, in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (nee D'Arcy) Turk. Sue was a lifetime resident of the Joliet area. Sue was a graduate of St. Raymond's and St. Francis Academy. She attended a few years at Barat College before starting a family.
She was a devoted mother and was actively involved in all her children's school activities. She volunteered for Hot Dog Days, game night concession stands and field trips. She volunteered to manage concession stands at St. Joe's ballpark during her son's games.
Throughout her lifetime, Sue was very active in the Joliet community and with the St. Ray's parish. She also participated in several organizations: St. Joseph/Provena Auxiliary Board, Visitation and Aid society and Jubilate at JCA. She followed in her parent's foot-steps when it came to philanthropy. She attended the St. Francis University Caritas event for over 50 years. She attended several Lewis University fundraising functions. Sue was a person who actively promoted the welfare of strangers through charitable donations of money and her own time.
She enjoyed family get-togethers, especially during the holidays. She took pleasure with her friends playing bridge and playing golf with the Duffers golf league, and looked forward to attending luncheons with the gals. Her favorite past time, while at home on Lake Lawn was watching the water fountain in the back yard in the afternoon. She also enjoyed summers in Whitehall, Michigan, with Bob and their family.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Mike) McClintock; two sons, Robert (Tim), and William (Tami) Wright. Sue leaves cherished grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) McClintock, Darcy (Kyle) Kirwan, Colton Wright and Logan (Oriana) Wright; three great-grandchildren, Rory, Aitana and Margaret. She is also survived by her brother, Joe Turk.
Sue was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert and daughter, Sally Ann (James) Ford; her parents, Frank and Margaret (D'Arcy) Turk; brothers, Frank and Don Turk; son-in-law, James Ford.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the following facilities: Franciscan Hospital, Bickford of Crown Point, Ciel at Plainfield, and Timbers of Shorewood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Shriners Hospital, Will County Health Department, 501 Ella Ave, Joliet, IL 60433, or Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate, would be appreciated.
