Warren Wesley Winkler, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was born in Joliet on March 31, 1936 to Wesley William Winkler and Helene (nee Dryer) Winkler. He was a life-long resident of the Joliet area and a graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1956.
Warren proudly served his country in the US Army. He then went on and retired as an electrician. He loved bowling, playing cards, and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling. Warren made it to almost all the United States National Parks over the years. Along with being a lifetime member of the Lockport Moose Lodge 1557.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Helene, one sister, Beverly (late, Joseph) Vargocko.
Survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Winkler; his son, Wesley J. (Joan) Winkler and 2 grandchildren, Amber (James Ritz) Winkler and Jacob Winkler.
Private funeral services were held at the Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 West Jefferson Street, Joliet and final interment and military honors were conducted by the US Army at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flower, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
