William "Bill" J. McKeon
William "Bill" J. McKeon, age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Survived by his children, Melissa McKeon-Francis, Megan (Ray) Toolan, Caitlin (Ponce Vargas) McKeon and William (Hannah) McKeon; his grandchildren, Morgan Francis, Mackenzie Francis, Macy Francis, Cameron Salazar, Becker Toolan and Liam McKeon; siblings, Michael (Pam) McKeon, Pat McKeon, Larry (Sandy) McKeon, Thomas McKeon, and Mary (Bob) Misuiurewicz. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Agnes (nee Valek) McKeon; his sister Diane Weis and his three nephews, Daniel McKeon, Gregory McKeon, and Michael McKeon.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Joliet and a proud 1971 graduate of Joliet Catholic High School. He later attended the University of Arizona before joining Local #444 as an Ironworker. Northern Arizona held a very special place in his heart, frequently traveling to see his oldest daughter, Melissa, and his granddaughters.
He was a very proud of his years coaching his daughters in basketball at Elwood School and his son in baseball at St. Joes Park. His affinity for teaching extended into helping neighbors, family, and friends in their kitchens and gardens. Often then enlisting them to "volunteer" in his own yard or kitchen.
Bill loved golf, gardening, and dirtying every dish in the kitchen preparing some of his incredible dinners. His ultimate hobby was spending time enjoying a cocktail, telling old stories, and listening to music in admiration of his hard work in the lawn or kitchen with friends, family, and anyone else interested in all the above.
Memorial Visitation for Bill will be held at Farkas Funeral Home, 3201 W. Jefferson St. Joliet, IL 60431 on Saturday September 11, 2021, from 10:00 am- 1:00 pm. Per Bill's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

I am so saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I wish I could have attended his memorial but ill from Covid. My prayers and thoughts are with his children and siblings and extended family. Bet he grilling and cooking it up in heaven. God's speed Bill.
