Stanley Stump, age 84, of Reed City, passed away on January 25, 2024 in Florida. He was born on July 3, 1939, in Grand Ledge, Michigan, to Alfred "Louie" and Agnes Stump. Stanley graduated in 1957 and served as a Marine Corporal of the First Pioneer Battalion from 1957 to 1960. On June 28, 1969, he married Sandra (Elliott) Stump, and together they raised four children, Tina (Steven Lee), Veronica (Russell Rickley), Stanley Louis Stump II (Donna), and Carol Ann (Carl Erickson).
Stanley worked as a Superintendent for the Michigan State Department of Transportation. He was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge, known for his voluntary work fixing things and making improvements. Stanley had a passion for playing cards, especially Euchre, and was an avid golfer and motorcycle racing enthusiast, achieving the title of State of Michigan Champion.
He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Bosworth, Rosemary Plunkett, Alice Meek, Elaine Harris, Sharon Matthews, and Mary Lou Kissinger. Stanley leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two bonus granddaughters. He will be dearly missed.
A service will be held on May 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Phillips Catholic Church, 831 S. Chestnut St., Reed City Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Phillips food pantry.
Stanley Stump will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia, Michigan, on May 4, 2024, at 11:30 AM, followed by a celebration of life luncheon at 319 E Main St. in Westphalia.

Deepest condolences dear Sandy. Stan was so outgoing and friendly. We will miss him. May he indeed rejoice in heaven pain free and reunited with friends and family who have gone before.
