Dakota Adam Coffin, 18, Reynolds, passed away at 4:39 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident in rural White County.
He was born on July 25, 1995, in Logansport, to Douglas A. "Doug" and Wanda Marie (Stilwell) Coffin.
Dakota had lived in Reynolds all of his life and was set to graduate from North White High School in June of 2014. He was accepted to Purdue University for the fall to major in business management.
Dakota was employed at Wal-Mart of Monticello and had just received a promotion. He also worked at Indiana Beach during the summer months.
School was important to Dakota. He was involved in a variety of sports and participated in the school's academics team.
Dakota was a very vibrant, happy, and loving person. He loved his family, friends, and his girlfriend, Kandi May Haygood.
Surviving are his parents, Douglas A. "Doug" and Wanda Marie Coffin, Reynolds; brother, Justin (Elizabeth) Woods, Monticello; sisters, Nicole Woods, Monticello and Katlyn Coffin, Reynolds; nephew, Koston Meyers, Monticello; grandparents, Denny and Carla Coffin, Reynolds and Ken and Cathy Stilwell, Royal Center; aunts, Amanda (Jon) Bowman, Reynolds, Amy Tyvand, Monticello, and Corinna Stilwell, Galveston; and cousins, Alicia and Jayden Tyvand, Bryan and Brent Bowman, and Aftin and Gavin Griffin.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello and from 10 – 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. James Lutheran Church, 110 N. Kenton Street, Reynolds. A Celebration of Life Service will be at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Charles Blakey of the St. James Lutheran Church of Reynolds officiating.
Burial will follow at the St. James Lutheran Cemetery in rural Reynolds.
Memorials may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.

Today is a day that wish I didn't have to face. I'll miss you Dakota, and it hurts to even make a routine trip to Walmart now. You were an amazing individual, and this happened way before your time. I'll see you again, and until then, look over the rest of us. Rest easy buddy.
