David Hood Obituary

David L. Hood, 80, Port Charlotte, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2022.

He was born on June 20, 1941, to James L. Hood Sr. and Doris (Whitfield) Hood in Hammond.

Prior to moving to Florida Dave was a founding member of the Monticello Lions Club, a member of the Moose and Monticello Christian Church.

Dave will be deeply missed by his loving wife of three years, Cynthia A. Hood; daughter, Dana Hood; two sons, Bruce (Kelly) Hood, Logansport, and Todd Hood, Port Charlotte, Fla.; three grandsons, Dale Hood, Drew and Blake Waltz; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Penny Waltz; two nephews, Greg (Kathy) Hood and Bryan (Tami) Hood, Texas; and many loving great-nieces and nephews and cousins.

He truly loved his family, fellowship and friends.

David was preceded in death by his dear first wife of 46 years, Pennelope "Penny" Hood; his parents; and his best friend and brother, James L. "Jim" Hood Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Port Charlotte, Fla. in January, 2023.
