Anthony M. Mazzello
Anthony M. Mazzello, 73, husband of Diana (Dragonetti) Mazzello for 50 years, died on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Danbury Hospital. Born on April 2, 1952 in Port Chester, NY, son of the late Marie (Chiappetta) Mazzello and Orlando Mazzello, he was a resident of Norwalk for many years before relocating to Danbury.
Tony is survived by his sons, John Mazzello and his wife Erika Mudrak of Ithaca, NY, and Michael Mazzello of Boston, MA; four adored grandchildren: Mariana, Alexandra, Theodore, and Katherine; his sister, Teri Mazzello; and his aunts, cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Tony was a retired supervisor for Grade A ShopRite. He enjoyed many hobbies over the years, including motorcycling, boating, computers (he was online long before it was popular), woodworking, reading business books and biographies, film and television (to his family's amusement, he loved rom-coms), and, recently, gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Tony's family would like to thank the caring staff members at Danbury Hospital, the Praxair Cancer Center, and Havencare at Filosa, who supported Tony during his illness. They also give special thanks to Dr. Chi, Dr. Ma, Dr. Seshadri, and Tony's nurses, Melissa and Dawn.
His family will receive friends on Monday, October 6, from 9-10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with his Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
