Carol M. (Arseniadis) Harding
Carol M. (Arseniadis) Harding, 88, widow of William J. Harding, passed peacefully of natural causes on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Hewitt Health and Rehab. Carol was born in White Plains, NY, daughter of the late Laurence and Marjorie (Allin) McGonigal. She raised her family in Norwalk, CT before residing in Shelton for more than 30 years. Carol worked as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor for many years until her retirement. Her compassion made her a wonderful sponsor, mentor, and friend. She adored being a homemaker. Taking care of her large family and volunteering in her community were roles she embraced. She was an avid gardener, active in the Shelton Garden club. She was a master seamstress; she knit, crocheted, and sewed extensively. Carol was the cherished mother of 5, Laurence Arseniadis and his wife Jane, Lisa Storck and her husband Jim, Susan Ferruolo and her husband Greg, James Arseniadis and his wife Margaret, and Laura Wright and her husband Jon. She was the loving Nana of 8 grandchildren, JT, Kate, Rob, Beth, Sarah, Nick, Mary, and Georgia and 8 great grandchildren Grace, Maeve, Taylor, Caroline, Maddison, Connor, Jack, and William. She is also survived by her 5 stepchildren, William Harding and his wife Annie, Patricia Harding, James Harding, Robert Harding and Philip Harding and their 5 children Ryan, Megan, Brianna, William and Danielle. She was predeceased by her brother Richard McGonigal. The family would like to thank the extensive staff of Hewitt Health and Rehab for their fabulous care 8 years ago teaching Carol how to function after a catastrophic stroke, then during the past 3 years while they tirelessly continued her therapies with such kindness, compassion, and dignity. Even during the challenges of the Corona Pandemic the love she received from everyone was beyond compare. In accordance to Carol's wishes there are no calling hours and a Memorial Service at her beloved family home on Lake Waramaug is being planned for the summer of 2022. Riverview Funeral Home, 390 Riverview Rd, Shelton CT has been entrusted with her arrangements. The family requests those wishing to honor Carol's memory to make contributions to: High Watch Recovery Center, 62 Carter Rd., PO Box 607, Kent CT 06757 or Special Olympics CT, 2666 State St., Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517.
