Christine Glidden Obituary

Well Known in TV and Art World Christine Dale Glidden passed away on Monday January 26th 2015 following a hard fought battle with an indomitable foe. She is lovingly remembered as a charming and stylish personality once called the “Last Flapper”. She graduated from the Thomas School in Rowayton, Garland College in Boston and was awarded a Ford Foundation Scholarship for the Arts Students League in New York City. She had a distinguished career as a producer, director at broadcast and cable TV networks included being part of 5 International Olympic Games. She is also an Emmy award winner. As a Board Member of the National Art Museum of Sport (NAMOS) she was instrumental in founding four International Sport/Art Competitions. In retirement, along with her continued commitment to NAMOS, she enjoyed devoting time to her own artwork and spectacular English Garden at the King Farm. Christine is survived by her two sisters Pamela Zapata and Dianna Glidden, nephews Alex and Mario Zapata, nieces Maya and Ariel Churchill and her fiancée William King of Redding, CT. A Celebration of Christine’s life will take place in the late Spring. To Bill and your family,
We all aspire to be more like Christine, so optimistic, so joyful, so loving and giving. She will be greatly missed. We are recalling the wonderful memories; dining out, classic car events, dancing to swing music and kayaking and more...all grand. Thank you and all our love, Jeannie and T

We didn't have nearly enough time, I pictured old ladies in our dotage, and we certainly weren't there yet! I'm so grateful we reconnected, and for the time we did have, and glad the battle is over and you are peaceful and no longer in pain. All mu love, Randy
