Edward Miller Obituary

Edward F. Miller, Jr.
Edward F. Miller, Jr., 82, husband of Jacquelyn Miller of Norwalk, died on July 23, 2023.
Born in Norwalk on October 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Edward F. Miller, Sr. and Mildred Napolean Miller.
Ed owned and operated Miller's Air Conditioning for over 30 years. He was also a lifetime member of the St. Ann's Club as well as the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Ed, also known as Mouse, was a great friend to many and well respected. No matter where he went he would always run into someone who knew him. Having been a lifelong Norwalk resident, there were very few people who lived in the area that didn't know Ed, and no one had a bad word to say about him. He was a giving man, many time taking work calls on holidays to help his elderly clients who didn't have heat without even the thought of getting compensated for it.
Ed had a love of cars. There are many stories told of his adventures within the car club, building the Lime Ricky, his prized '55 Chevy and of course, racing. He also loved golf and when he wasn't on the course, you could see him chipping at Taylor Farm or in his front yard.
He loved Jackie, his wife of 57 years. They had a bond that was like no other. They built their home together in Norwalk where they raised their 3 beautiful daughters.
Ed loved the water. Growing up, he would spend his time on Sheffield Island with his family and after he married and had his daughters. He made memories with them there as well, jumping off the dock, and playing golf around the lighthouse.
His love of water led him to the Navy where he served on the USS Fulton and worked on the Nautilus submarine. He was a proud Navy man.
Ed will be missed by many.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Edward is survived by his sister: Arlene Heinz of Boulder, CO (Peter); children: Carolyn Miller (David) of New Canaan, CT, Kathy Koziel (Chris) of East Hampton, CT and Christine Peterson of Norwalk, CT. Grandchildren: Orion Schyberg, Aurora Schyberg, Gabrielle Peterson and Miller Koziel. Great-granddaughter: Marine Schyberg. He also has several nieces and nephews.
Edward was predeceased by his son-in-law Eric Peterson.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 3, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 4, at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Ed was not one to dress up, therefore it is his wish that no ties are worn. Any type of collared shirt is preferred.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: St Jude Childrens' Research.
