Gale McDonald Obituary
Gale I. McDonald, 75, wife of James L. McDonald of Norwalk passed away on Tuesday, June 6.
Born in Norwalk on February 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Clara Iannaccone.
Gale was a teacher in Norwalk for many years. She started teaching at the Broad River School and then Wolfpit and eventually the Marvin. Gale had a great love for animals, music and art. She adopted numerous cats and dogs over the years, played the piano at home and in her classroom, enjoyed quilting and knitting, as well as painting. One of Gale's greatest joys was her annual visit to Disney World. Above everything else Gale loved her two children, Michael and Laura, they were the most important thing in her life.
In addition to her husband and children, Gale is survived by her brother Glenn Iannaccone and his wife Ann of Norwalk and by her stepmother Anne Iannaccone, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
Contributions in Gale's Memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or TAILS of Westport.

Mrs. McDonald was one of my special Ed. Teachers back in '94-'98. I've always remembered her throughout the years and it hurts my heart to know that she has passed on.

Gale was a lovely neighbor, and the Iannacone's/McDonald's always treated everyone like family. Gale loved her family deeply, and would always give you a smile and take a moment to catch up whenever you saw her.

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs McDonalds passing. She was my grandson Stevens teacher at Marvin. He had special medical needs and she was wonderful with helping us and him. Her kindness and caring nature was very special. She made a huge impact on Steven who is 28 now and us as well. She will be in our hearts always. My sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers to her family.
