Gloria Tucker Obituary

Gloria Stevens Tucker, age 94, transitioned from earthly labor to eternal life on September 9, 2022 at Norwalk Hospital with her beloved family by her side.
Gloria was born on August 18, 1928 in Surrency, GA to the late Ruby McRae Swain and Ondra Stevens. She was the wife of the late Roscoe B. Tucker Sr.
She was an active member of Bethel AME Church Norwalk for over 70 years where she continued to worship until her health declined. She was Past GWM of Prince Hall Grand Chapter OES, of State of Connecticut Inc., a member of Dorcas Chapter #14 of Stamford and was the oldest living GWM.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her daughters: Rev. Velva Jean Tucker of Bridgeport, CT and Valerie J. Tucker of Garden Grove, CA; three sisters; one brother; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and special niece Cora L. Keels of Chapel Hill, NC.
A viewing will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Bethel AME Church Norwalk, 19 Academy Street, Norwalk, CT.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 12:00 PM, Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank Street, Bridgeport, CT. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport, CT.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was honored to meet Mrs. Tucker in her later days, at her Witon home. She was my sisters roommate. She is the sweetest lady. She was a joy. Always a smile on her face. Peace be with the family. God Bless.
