John Ragin Obituary
John Wesley Ragin, 44 years of age, transitioned peacefully on September 12, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stamford, Connecticut on November 13, 1972 to Betty J. Ragin Godfrey and the late John W. Niles. John was married to Mellodye Green Ragin of Norwalk, CT. He served as a Mentor and Technical Trainer at the Institute of Audio Research and touched the lives of many with his musical gifts and passion as an Entertainment Engineer. John's life and legacy will be treasured by his wife Mellodye Green Ragin, one daughter; Zoe Re Ragin, one son; Theodore D. Briggs, Jr., his mother; Evangelist Betty J. Ragin Godfrey, two sisters; Loretta Ragin and Regina Ragin, three brothers, two nieces; Crystal Edwards and Iesha Edwards, three nephews; Dontae Edwards, Taijon Ragin and Phillip Jones, Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service of celebration at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Church, 39 West Ave. Norwalk, CT. with Pastor Dexter Upshaw officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Services entrusted to Downer Funeral Home.

Dear Ms. Mellodye, Zo Re and PJ: Our hearts are saddened yet filled with joy that "Dolo" went home to be with our heavenly Father. We are grateful that we were able to see him the Saturday before as he and your beautiful daughter enjoyed the Oyster Festival. Both looked so content to be in each other's presence.
