John Spangle Obituary
John L Spangle, 93, of (Circle Blvd.) New Port Richey, FL, and formerly of Norwalk, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021 in the loving care of his family and the HPH Hospice, New Port Richey. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Madeleine, in 1961, by his 2nd wife Sarah in 2016, and by his daughter Lorraine Rackiewicz in 2014. John will be deeply missed by his children, Kathleen Pearse of Sligo, Ireland, Maureen Cunningham (Brian) of Milford, CT, Michael Spangle of Lake City, Minnesota, Ann Boise(Bill) of Belgrade, Montana, and Valerie Williams (Sam) of New Port Richey, his 12 grandchildren (Adam, Owen, Morgan, Heather, Kerry, Christa, Yvonne,Joanne, Aislinn, Sarah, David and Conor) and his 5 great-grandchildren (Iyla, Noah, Eve, Owen and Patrick) who all call him 'Papa Seagull'.
John, a veteran of the US Coast Guard, was a friend of Bill W and was involved for 35 years in supporting those with addiction, and also volunteered with the Solve agency, for expectant mothers and their families. He was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace, and an active member of the Sons & Daughters of Erin.
