Joseph Vincent D'Orso
Joseph Vincent D'Orso, 83, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, he was a proud and decorated Captain of the U.S. Army earning the Bronze Star as an Airborne Ranger with the 25th Infantry Division while serving in Vietnam.
A graduate of the University of Dayton, Joe met his beloved wife, Virginia, during college. He later built a successful business career and, in retirement, mentored veterans returning to civilian life.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia; children Chris (Christine) D'Orso, Jay (Sharon) D'Orso, Ann Berke; sister Patricia (Rick) Scharmer; and seven grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:

Yesterday

I grew up in south norwalk along with the d´orso. Joe´s father or grandfather was joe, the shoemaker. I think u kids grew up on snoden ave. I was friends with joe sister, patty. Snowden ave. My grandparents, lived on snowden ave. ##11. I think joe dad was a policeman. So sorry about the passing of joe. BUT IT IS FUN TO THINK of way back times.

We also live in FL. We love the warm weather. I wonder if patty remembers our family from lexington ave, then lubrano. Pl. we live in The Villages, FL
