Mary Reasoner Obituary

Reasoner, Mary Ray
Mary Ray Reasoner, age 60, of Norwalk, died tragically on December 12, 2016. She was an extremely bright, artistic, creative, and caring person who had a wonderful, wry sense of humor. At the same time, she was fragile, and her family wishes to acknowledge her battles with mental illness. We are grateful for the many good years she had.
She is survived by her siblings who loved her - Stuart and his wife Emily of Hendersonville NC, Ann and her husband Jim of Lakewood CO, Elizabeth of San Francisco CA, Jane of Bridgeport, Ellen and her husband Karl of Easton and Jonathan and his wife Gretchen of Sandy Hook – and her beloved nephews and nieces – Jason, his wife Stephanie and their children Paityn and Cole (Ray's great-niece and great-nephew); Leslie, Ryan, Jack, Samantha, Christian and Ian.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11am at St Matthew's Church in Norwalk.

I know this is not very current and my meeting Ray (as I knew her) was a very brief encounter. Now..I wish it was not not. I'm beginning to realize that she had a very long struggle. I met her at Fairfield University.

I was so sorry to hear about Mary's death. I had met her a few years earlier at Bed, Bath and Beyond. She was very kind and remembered my mom fondly. May she rest in peace.

Sleep in peace, my dear, sweet RayRay. I was so blessed, to have shared a small part of your life, laughing and clowning around with someone as special, as you, back in the day. What great memories!

Just came across letters you wrote, many, many years ago, when my wondering soul found its way back home, to Florida and I had to lsay goodbye to my beautiful, petite RayRay.
I was so fortunate to have crossed paths and connect with such a deep and caring person, sharing many "sames" with you.

The hours we talked, were endless and now realizing, even deeper, how precious your words were, because your words----were you! You, Cheryl and I were quite the gal pals, never knowing what might be or when! Our short but loving friendship will forever be cherished in my heart.

We are all one, and one day, we will join up, again, my dear, dear, RayRay❤

For 30 years you told me you liked this poem and that it meant a lot to you when your mom died. So now I leave it here for you:

Do not stand by my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

This was written by Mary Elizabeth Frye and they say she never copyrighted it.

I will miss you Ray-Ray. I really will.
