OMG> My wife is in hospice and Mitch and his wife came to mind. Mitch sold me and my wife our first insurance policies. We were the best of enemies at 18 Bedford Ave but became the best of friends until we moved to Florida. I send my deepest condolences to the family.

I met Mitchell during my triathlon days. He was always so kind and giving of his time and experience. Seeing him before the start of a race brought a huge smile to my face - without fail. He would ask, "Are you having fun? Cuz if you're not having fun, what's the point?!" Condolences to the entire family.

I concur with my former teammate (TE) Sandy Belzer. Mitch WAS one of the GREATEST athlete I´ve ever had the pleasure to compete with and against. Our days particlpating in P.A.L. Baseball, Pop Warner football with the Far Rock Dolphins, (Smith was our H.C.) Later going on to play with Mitch that memorial game at YANKEE STADIUM, 69-70. Defeating Canarsie H.S. 7-2. Along with being one of his wide receivers.. Mitch was a GREAT guy and person. I will truly miss him. Greg Carter

I worked at the Norwalk YMCA in the Fitness Center for almost 10 years. Mitch was a "regular" and I would enjoy talking to him daily.
I am extremely sorry to hear of the loss of a great guy. My thoughts are with his family,

Mitch was a year older then me.
His friends he hung out with were also older then me.
He was a class act!
I was a tight end on his team.
He would throw the ball so hard he almost broke my fingers.
I was on that championship team!
I didn´t understand why another college didn´t pick him up and didn´t play professional football.
Jack would sit on the gold post and yell at all the players.
I´m so sorry to here of his passing.
So much more to Say such little time.

Mitch was such a special person. We reconnected a number of years ago & had a great day walking on campus at UB. The last time we met I could see how this terrible disease was affecting him. We all wish we had more time with Mitchell!

Dear Eric, Brian and Kelly. My deepest sympathies about your dad. Besides the hundreds of miles we covered on road running and biking we had so many laughs and solved so many world problems! I hope you find comfort that he is at peace. Deepest sympathies, Vasso Kelly Gyftopoulos

My deepest sympathies. If you were in Mitchell's presence, you were smiling and laughing. Always a wonderful time. Kind and generous. Rest in Peace.

Mitchell was a wonderful person to be around. Played a lot of softball with Mitch back in the day and then became friends and he took care of our insurance. I will miss hearing about all the marathons he completed. He will be missed. RIP buddy and so sorry to his family
