Pasquale Sgarlata departed this life on August 30, 2021 at Wilton Meadows, at the age of 101. He was the loving husband of Josephine (Porchi) Sgarlata for 69 years. Born in Scilla, Italy, the son of the late Cosimo and Giovanna (Ciccone) Sgarlata, he served as a sergeant in the Italian military during World War II. In 1953 he came to the U.S. and built a life for his family, as a master carpenter with Union # 210. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Domenico, Alba, Mimma, Tita, Gaetano, Giacomo and Concetta.
In addition to his loving wife Josephine, he is survived by their two children Giovanna and Cosimo Sgarlata as well as his niece Giovanna Losardo and her husband Alfonso, and daughter Giuliana.
His family will receive friends Thursday, Sept 2 from 4-7 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 at St. Philip Church, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
