Peter Zaccagnino Obituary

Peter Zaccagnino
In Loving Memory of Peter Zaccagnino
February 10, 1953 – October 14, 2025
Peter Zaccagnino, 72, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, surrounded by family and love.
A lifelong musician, performer, and teacher, Peter was known to many as Uncle Zac and shared his joy of music through the ukulele. His warmth, humor, and generosity touched countless lives, and his legacy continues to live on through the stories and songs he leaves behind.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Laurie; daughter Corey and her husband Stephen; son Andrew and his wife Alexandra; and three grandchildren, Oliver, Parker, and Tyler, with another grandchild expected this December.
He will be remembered always for his laughter, his kindness, and the music that filled his life and the lives of everyone who knew him.

My thoughts go out to the Zaccagnino family. He was my baseball coach when I was 15, and he was such a great guy. Saw him several times after and we usually talked about his beloved Porsche Targa. This hurts. Such a great guy.

I´m so sorry to hear of Pete´s passing and extend condolences and wish peace to all his family and loved ones. I knew him as a great musician and teacher who had tremendous enthusiasm and patience, both of which are required to be a good instructor. He was friendly and funny, and I´ll always remember him and his great advice for his uke students, which applies to all musicians. When a student struggled with the daunting task of getting motivated to practice, Zac would say "Don´t practice, just play".

Peter told me I was his first paid ukulele student. We became good friends after that for almost 20 years. Peter loved sharing his Uke knowledge with others, old, young and musically challenged. There was a sparkle that shined inside Pete that made people love him. Geoff Rezek

Laurie and Family..So sorry to hear of the passing of Pete. We would always run into each other at
stop and shop and talk in the aisle forever. Talking about the old days the ballgames and picnics and always saying we have get together for a reunion. Pete always had a smile and talked about the family. I´m sure he will be very much missed by all.

So sad to hear of Peter Zacs passing. He was a true gentleman and a great Mario´s cleaners customer who didn´t mind at all getting barked at by my pug Rex who he affectionately would call Frank from MIB. My condolences to the family. Pete´s playing his Ukulele in the sky now.Play on!
