Mr. Robert L. Manere, 88, of Weston, CT and beloved husband of Frances (Buchta) Manere passed away at home on Monday, September 13, 2021.
Robert was born in Westport, CT on December 17, 1932 and was the son of the late Anthony and Angelina Manere. He was a Staples High School Grad and then went on to receive his Masters degree from the University of Bridgeport. He was a United States Veteran serving in both the US Navy and the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. Robert was a longtime teacher in the Westport Public School System and coached Basketball, Baseball and Football at Coleytown Junior High during that time. He was an avid golfer and New York Yankee fan.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Frances Manere include three sons; Brian Manere of Bethel, CT, Robert Manere and his wife Robin of Bethel, CT and Michael Manere and his fiancée Lisa of Hudson, MA, one sister; Shirley Candee of Easton, CT, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral on Friday, September 17, 2021 meeting directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston, CT at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road Westport, CT with full military honors. The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.hardingfuneral.com
