Thomas Ranges Obituary
Tom Ranges, 79, died peacefully at Norwalk Hospital on Monday, December 21st, with his wife, Christie, and his son, Peter, at his bedside.
Born in New Rochelle, NY, he was the son of Dr. Hilmert and Charlotte K. Ranges, and the beloved brother of the late Barbara McNeilly, Christine Ranges, the late Sr. Carol Ranges, Rev. Charles Ranges, Gerald Ranges and Mary Ranges.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Christine Pattison Ranges, he is survived by his son Peter, daughter-in-law Esther Murillo, and his beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth ("Lizzie").
A longtime resident of Rowayton, CT, and founding member of The Rowayton Yacht Club at Hickory Bluff, Tom retired from the financial world where he worked as a stock broker to enjoy his passion for sailing and fine art. His paintings and iPad sketches were well known in the community and enjoyed by many. He was a member of the Rowayton Arts Center and a lifetime member of The Art Students League of NY.
Tom will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk due to Covid-19 restrictions. A joyous memorial gathering is being planned for a more favorable time in the future.
Contributions in Tom's memory can be made to The Convent of St. Birgitta, 4 Runkenhage Road, Darien, CT or to a charity of one's choice.

Christie, Roy and I were saddened to hear about Tom. This difficult year has certainly now been worse for you and your family.
We liked seeing Tom at the RYC. You could tell he enjoyed it so. He also got us interested in small motorized sailboats.
