Thomas Topar Obituary
Thomas N. Topar, age 79, of Darien, beloved husband of Marilyn Hall Topar, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. Tom was born in Bridgeport on December 3, 1945, beloved son of the late Louis P. and Veronica (Rozmilevich) Topar and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School, class of 1964 and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam War. Prior to retirement, Tom was a partner with Wasencky Brothers Trucking Company. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, include his stepchildren, Courtney Mucha (Paul), William Brian Smith (Meredith), and Christopher Emery Smith (Donna), 4 cherished grandchildren, Stephen, Katherine and Andrew Mucha, and Henry William Smith, brother, Kenneth Topar, and sisters, Robin Anderson (Paul), and Pattie MacDonald (Charlie) and several nieces and nephews. Visitation on Monday November 17, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford, Panachida at 4:30 p.m. A Requiem Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. meeting directly at The Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment with full military honors will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may donate in memory of Tom to: St Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN 38105. Tommy was a gentleman in the true sense of the word. He was always kind and sweet and always so thoughtful and generous especially to all the little ones in our family. I remember a day in the Fall when I was visiting with my mom who was in her golden years and I looked out the kitchen window and who do I see but Tommy and his boys raking her leaves - he never said a word about being there and when the job was done he just quietly left - a silent act of kindesss. That is who he was.
Heaven will be a better place with him in it!
