Floyd Schroeder Obituary

RAVENNA - Floyd "Buck" Schroeder, 81, of Ravenna died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton. The Rev. Dean Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schroeder was born Dec. 19, 1929, at Hazard to William and Anna (Engel) Schroeder.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Marian of Ravenna; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Pam and Earl Klein of Pleasanton, Cindy Schroeder-Ripp and Terry Ripp, Marla Schroeder of Ravenna and Teresa Olson of Holdrege; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Schroeder of Allyn, Wash.; and three sisters, Helen Tillson and Amy Mullally, both of Ravenna and Betty Rolfe of Elsie, Mich.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 in Korea. He married Marian Keehn on Dec. 31, 1955, in Grand Island. They made their home in Valentine for 15 years. In 1972, they moved to the family ranch south of Sweetwater, where he raised cattle and horses. They moved to their present home south of Ravenna in 1991.

He enjoyed music, horses, coonhounds and his family.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

I met and got to know Buck from College at KSC in 1977/78. He was a wonderful man full of love and laughter.

He will be very much missed by myself and my college roommates. God Bless You.
