Jacy Lynn Henk

Jacy Lynn Henk, of Aurora, her life's work finally and fully completed, departed this world for Heaven on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 63.
Jacy had a strong faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Friends and family will remember Jacy and celebrate her life at a 10 a.m. service on Tuesday, November 11th, at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Jacy will be cremated after her body's visit to UNMC, so there will be no viewing or visitation. Inurnment will be in the Aurora Cemetery.

Jacy Lynn Henk was born on March 8, 1962, in Aurora, Nebraska. Jacy was the oldest of Duane and Janice (Hoffman) Henk's three daughters.
A Nebraskan by birth and by choice, Jacy grew up and received education from Central City graduating in 1980. After high school, Jacy attended nursing school at Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings and graduated with a diploma in nursing in 1985. She married Lloyd Pierce, Jr. in 1986 and that marriage ended in 2002. In 2010, Jacy married Allen H. Thompson in Aurora, Nebraska, and they made their home in Aurora for 25 years at the time of her death.
Jacy moved to Aurora in 2002 after gaining a new friend in Bill W. Jacy remained a friend of Bill W. until her death in 2025. Jacy knew she was a natural educator of nurses and pursued a Bachelors, Masters in Nursing Education, and earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2020. Due to a long health history that occurred in 1982, Jacy was able to turn that into a gift to help patients. She was forced to retire in 2020, before the pandemic, due to that health history and because of the health history, Jacy made the decision to donate her body to science at UNMC.
Jacy enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, and was an avid Native American historian. She cherished the opportunity to meet Kevin Costner in Deadwood, South Dakota.
Jacy was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Janice (Hoffman) Henk; and sisters, Gail (Henk) Graham of Hastings and Lisa Henk of Kearney; and mother-in-law, Betty Thompson of Grand Island.
She is survived by her husband, Allen H. Thompson of Aurora; brother-in-law, Rodney Graham of Hastings; a nephew, Joseph R. Graham of Hastings; a great-niece, Essence Lynn Graham of Hastings; sister-in-law, Corena (Kenneth) Hinze of Albion; sister-in-law, Donna Thompson of Omaha; brother-in-law, Buddy (Lori) Thompson of Poole; and honorary brother, Keith (Sara) Erlenbusch of Aurora. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
