Jahaquin "Bob" Galvan, 81, of Grand Island died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at home with his loving family at his side.
A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan 23, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Daniel Naranjo will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow in the Grand Island Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force and United Veterans Honor Guard.

Bob was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Grand Island, the son of Secundino and Isabelle (Martinez) Galvan. He attended Grand Island Senior High and from there he enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17, June 1957. He retired from the Air Force following 20 years of service.
Bob married the love of his life, Sofie Salinas, July 29, 1958, and together they had six children, residing most of their life on Jefferson Street, where the rooms were filled with laughter and sleepovers with all 15 grandkids and 15 great-grandkids. They provided nurturing love and support to their granddaughter, Melody, as if she were their own daughter.
Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Bessie Frith; many family members and friends, including Jenny Richardson and Bessie Frith; his children, Monica (Chris) Galvan, Melissa Kennedy, Timothy (Jennifer) Galvan and Valerie (Todd) Schaefer; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jesse Galvan, Mikie Galvan, Johnny Galvan; sisters, Nicolasa Perez, Emily Soto and Sheila Sanchez.
He was preceded in death by sons, Timothy Scott Galvan and Bobby Jahaquin Galvan; wife, Sofie Salinas Galvan; and very dear and special friend, Jenny Jenkins Richardson.
