Ken R. Werner

October 8, 1935 - March 3, 2026

Ken R. Werner, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Memorial Community Care.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6th at Messiah Lutheran Church. Rev. Rudy Flores will officiate. Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, March 6th from 9-10 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. OBITUARY: KENNETH WERNER

Kenneth Ray Werner was born October 8, 1935, at Polk, Nebraska to Raymond and Myrtle (Liedke) Werner and passed away on March 3, 2026, at Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 90.

He grew up in Polk, where he graduated from Polk High School. Ken attended Wahoo University for a year before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served for two years before being honorably discharged in April 1957.

Ken was married to Parma Eriksen on August 22, 1959, at Kronborg. They had two children: Scott and Mickie. Over his career Ken worked at the Polk Coop, Overland Sand & Gravel, Polk Gas Company, Bonnavilla Homes and Mike Nelson Land Development.

Ken was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Polk. Ken and Parma were Founding Members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora, where he was a council member for many years. He was a passionate member and founder of Lincoln Creek Pheasants Forever.

A huge part of Ken's life was fishing, with numerous trips to Canada. Gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and church family members. Ken loved watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting activities. He was also a high school football and basketball official for numerous years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Parma on June 5, 2021; parents; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Holger & Etna Eriksen; brother, Roger Werner and sister-in-law, Donna Werner; sister, Ila Campbell and brother-in-law, Roger Campbell and brother-in-law, Neil Eriksen.

He is survived by his son, Scott (Lisa) Werner of Aurora and daughter, Mickie Werner of Lincoln, NE; 3 grandchildren, Derek (Hope) Werner of Overland Park, KS, Trent (Emily) Werner of Lincoln, NE, and Brody Werner of Kansas City, KS; 6 great-grandchildren, Weston, Reagan, Zane, Callum, Micah and Selah; sister-in-law, Mary Eriksen and many nieces and nephews.

just want to say I am so sorry too Kenny's family. My husband pulled house out of Bonnevilla and so many time Kenny would have to bring them out of a tight spot for us,and then him and Jake would stand around talking for awhile.We also was invited over To Ken and Parma's home. God Bless you all.
