Lee A. Faaborg

May 6, 1962 - September 24, 2025

GRAND ISLAND – Lee Allen Faaborg, 63, of Grand Island, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025, at CHI Health Bergan Mercy in Omaha, surrounded by his loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Vince Parsons will celebrate the Mass.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, with recitation of the rosary beginning at 5 p.m.

Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.

The family requests, instead of flowers and plants that memorials be given to the family for later designation.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.

Lee was born on May 6, 1962, in St. Paul, to Carl and Donna (Anderson) Faaborg. He grew up in Cotesfield and attended elementary school there before going on to junior high and high school in Elba, graduating with the Class of 1980. He then attended Central Community College in Columbus for two years. While in school, Lee sang in the Chorale Show Choir group.

On April 29, 1989, Lee was united in marriage to Lisa Rose in St. Paul. To this union, two daughters were born, Kayla and Kelsey.

After college, Lee worked for a couple of years with RadioShack before beginning a long and dedicated career with Wendy's. He worked his way up the ladder, eventually serving as General Manager at locations in Hastings, Kearney, and Grand Island, before becoming President of the local franchise. Lee retired in 2019.

Sports were always an important part of Lee's life. He coached his daughters on the Ron's Music softball Team. Lee also played and coached for many years on the Home Federal men's fast pitch softball team. Beyond the field, he gave back to his community as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and also served on the board for the Leadership Tomorrow program, Grand Island chapter.

Lee also loved to golf and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Lake of the Woods near St. Paul. He especially enjoyed spending time with friends, hosting get-togethers, and cooking and smoking foods for his guests. Music was a major part of who Lee was; he loved to sing and shared his gift at numerous weddings and funerals over the years. He was also a passionate sports fan, cheering faithfully for the New York Jets and Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa of Grand Island; daughters and sons-in-law, Kayla and Kyle Peters of Kearney, and Kelsey and Kaleb Vik of Omaha; two grandchildren, Will and Mady Peters; siblings, Randy and Bobbi Faaborg of Ord, Marilyn and Russ Williams of Grand Island, and Diane and Rene Simard of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; parents-in-law, Jim and Judy Rose of St. Paul; Lisa's siblings and spouses, Lynn Rose, Liana Wroblewski, Bob and Elvina Rose, Lori and Dan Kennedy, John and Lisa Rose, Kevin and Paula Rose, and Ryan and Laura Rose; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Milton Moravec; and brother-in-law and best friend, John Wroblewski.
