LOUP CITY - Marion Hancock, 93, of Loup City died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic private family services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City, with the Rev. Lori Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City.
Public visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Higgins Funeral Home, where the family will not be present. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be followed. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The funeral service Saturday can be viewed on the Higgins Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials are suggested to the Loup City Volunteer Fire Department, Loup City Rescue or donor's choice. Marion L. (Bartunek) Hancock was born Oct. 26, 1927, at Loup City to James (Jim) A. and Leah Evelyn (Daddow) Bartunek. She grew up in Loup City and graduated from Loup City High School. On Dec. 14, 1947, she married Earl W. (Bill) Hancock. Bill and Marion raised their two boys, Sam and Don, in Loup City. Marion did secretarial work for an office in Loup City and for the high school. She enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family. Marion also enjoyed painting, reading and watching television. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Loup City American Legion Auxiliary.
Marion is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Connie Hancock of Peetz, Colo., and Sam and Karen Hancock of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Brian (Kelli Siebenborn) Hancock, Aspen (Cristianna) Hancock and Dillon (Kaci) Hancock; and great-grandchildren, Will Hancock, Cole and Addi Siebenborn and Oliver Hancock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl "Bill"; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Paul Ritz and Ruth and Louis Czaplewski.
