Michael I. Friedrichsen

BOELUS - Michael I. Friedrichsen, 51, of rural Boelus died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cairo United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Dale Lambert and Jeff Hale officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Camp Creek Cemetery, Eagle.

Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Friedrichsen was born Jan. 4, 1958, in Lincoln to Irvin Friedrichsen and Marilyn (Seiber) Robertson.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife Cindy, and daughter, Brandy of Boelus; his mother of Douglas; three sisters, Cindy, Kim and Susan; and a brother, Danny.

Michael is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lynn and Carleen Dowding of Alvo; and numerous other family members, friends, and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Friedrichsen.

He graduated from Centura High School, and then was employed by Clark Construction of Ashland and Hooker Brothers of Grand Island. His jobs took him all over Nebraska and his expertise with running a scraper was well known throughout the state. He also worked for Leprino Foods of Ravenna and Chief Industries Building Dept. of Grand Island. Michael was united in marriage to Cindy Dowding of Alvo on Aug. 23, 1997. One daughter, Brandy Lynn, was born to this marriage on Nov. 27, 2000. They made their home in Greenwood, later moving to Cairo, Sodtown, and finally living on a farm in rural Boelus.

Michael's interests centered on his family, especially his daughter. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and his love for the NE Cornhuskers, always wearing a team shirt on game day.

Memorials are suggested to the Brandy Lynn Friedrichsen Educational Fund.
