Michael Slauter Obituary
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Cremation services were provided by Westlawn Memorial Park. Interment of ashes will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.
Michael Louis Slauter was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Grand Island to Ralph and Luella (Jakubowski) Slauter.
Survivors of the immediate family include his son Tyler Slauter of Omaha; a brother Bob and his wife Sheila Krolikowski of Grand Island and a brother Jerry and his wife Angie Krolikowski of Grand Island.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Chrissi Yeck and her husband Carl, Shanon Niedfelt and her husband Dave, Ryan Krolikowski, Jim Krolikowski, Tim Krolikowski, Cori Terry, Tina Lucas and Jamissa Davis and her husband Jason.
He grew up in Grand Island and received his education in the Grand Island Public Schools.
He entered the U.S. Navy on Feb. 27, 1973. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 19, 1978.
Michael was united in marriage to Francie Hermes on June 30, 1979, in Grand Island. They made their home in Grand Island where he was employed by Becker Trucking. The couple also owned and operated a craft business. Mrs. Slauter preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1995.
Michael will be remembered as a loving and patient man who enjoyed working with his hands. He loved doing crafts, woodworking, history and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
