Shirley was born July 11, 1943, in Grand Island, the daughter of Daniel and Evelyn (Danburg) Ewoldt. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1961. On November 23, 1963, Shirley married the love of her life, Marvin Keller Jr. They spent 61 wonderful years together raising their family and watching their grandchildren grow.
Following the birth of their first child, Shirley lived her dream of staying at home to raise her children and later take care of her grandchildren. She also cared for her many nieces and nephews and countless other children, running her own daycare for over 30 years. Family was her life; she loved to get together for any occasion no matter how big or small. Being with family was her happy place. She was a source of wisdom, guidance, and comfort to many. Shirley was a legend in the kitchen. Learning to cook from her mother and grandmother. A few of her specialties were potato salad, chocolate chip cookies, and banana bread.
She never missed a function for the children in her life, whether it was sports, music, dance, or school programs. She was always her family's number one fan. Shirley was a life member of the PTA. Always willing to volunteer, she was happy to be available if needed for field trips or as a cab driver.
Shirley was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Platt Deutsch, and the Saddle Club. She touched so many lives and has left her legacy of unconditional love.
Shirley loved all sports on TV; however, she was a super fan of Husker volleyball. She also enjoyed the game show channel and cooking shows. She enjoyed playing cards, board games and reading.
Those left to cherish her memory include children, Tammy (Bruce) Kuhl, Todd (Launa) Keller, Troy (Jill) Keller, and Tiffany Keller; grandchildren, Andrea (Clayton) Auer, Kaylee (Jared) Stutzman, Brett Keller, Jared (Erica) Kuhl, Cydney Keller, Caden Keller, Anna Keller, and Evelyn Keller; great-grandsons, Remington Stutzman, Maverick Stutzman, and Brax Stutzman; and great-granddaughter, Avery Auer.
She is also survived by a brother, Danny (Sue) Ewoldt; two sisters, Connie (Larry) Tylkowski and Jacque Ewoldt; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
