WOLBACH - Vivian V. Wagner, 97, of Wolbach died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. Vicar Marcia Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Wagner was born Feb. 17, 1916, at Burwell, the daughter of Charles F. and Katie (Pimpara) Mitchell.

Survivors of the immediate family include one son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Alyce Wagner of Wolbach; and two daughters, Donetta Domina of DeKalb, Ill., and Joyce Baldwin of Bennington; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

As a young child, Vivian moved with her family to the Elba area where she grew up and attended country schools and graduated from Elba High School in 1935. She then attended Kearney State College and taught school southeast of Wolbach.

She was united in marriage to Harold L. Wagner on May 19, 1937, at Grand Island. The couple farmed 4 miles southwest of Wolbach. Harold died on March 15, 1990, and she later moved into Wolbach where she lived until June 2009, when she moved to the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul, where she lived the rest of her life.

Vivian was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Women of the ELCA, Pins and Pans Extension Club and the Wolbach Historical Society.

She enjoyed writing poetry, her big garden, flowers, crafts, traveling, dancing with Harold, and working in the community and church. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Lyle Domina and Gene Baldwin; infant grandson, Lance Baldwin; two brothers, Lester Mitchell and Ivan Mitchell; and three sisters, Evelyn Svoboda, Anna Ogard and Cathryn Schachta.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Wolbach Community Center.
