Daniel Haggerty Obituary

Daniel M. Haggerty
Daniel M. Haggerty, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 18, 2021, at his home in Warrington, Pennsylvania.
Dan was born in Philadelphia on November 11, 1963, and spent the next 57 years bringing joy and a smile to the face of everyone he met. The youngest of five boys born to Regina and Mark Haggerty, he grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and was a graduate of Archbishop Ryan High School.
The consummate family man, Dan married his high school sweetheart, Christina Weber, in 1984 and was a loving and dedicated father to Christin and Daniel. In the past few years, he took on a new role as an adoring Pop to Cameran and Nicholas. Nothing was more important to Dan than his love for Tina, his children, and his grandchildren.
Dan was the life of every party. Whether hosting a backyard barbecue at his house, serving as the master of ceremonies at the family Olympics or as "Santa" at the annual family Christmas party, Big D made every gathering brighter and always delivered the laughs. He was also the go-to person for helping a family member or friend in need, or offering advice on an important life decision. Every cousin, niece, nephew and friend knew they could count on Dan. And even though he was the youngest, each of his four older brothers looked up to him. Dan was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed nothing more than spending an afternoon at a Phillies game with his son Danny.
Dan worked as the Senior Director of Customer Success at Premier, a healthcare technology company, and was loved by colleagues for his kindness, charm, and sense of humor. He remained close to his friends from childhood and made new ones everywhere he went. In recent years Dan enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren on the beach in Sea Isle City, New Jersey and he loved to play golf with his son-in-law Nick and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his daughter Shannon, his parents Regina and Mark and in-laws Herman and Alice Weber. He is survived by his wife Tina, his son Dan, his daughter Christin and son-in-law Nick Cliggett, his grandchildren Cameran and Nicholas Cliggett, his brothers Rick, Larry, Mark, and Michael, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26 at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, with a funeral mass to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dan's name to Philabundance at www.philabundance.org.

Haven’t seen him since we lived on Deerpath Lane. Remember him playing ball out front. Viewing his photo, he reminds me of his dad. God bless.

I remember feeding him his baby food dessert, after dinner, on his front step. His mom would be doing dishes.

I was very shocked and sad to hear about Dan's passing. I had the pleasure working with Dan serving many of the same member accounts. Dan was great to work with and a pleasure to be around. He was an expert in his field and was respected by his clients and coworkers for his knowledge and integrity. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Dan was a great friend. I always looked forward to my Philly trips and trainings with Dan just to hang out with him. He made a Kentucky boy a Flyers fan. Really going to miss him. But will always have great memories. The pic below was one of those Philly trips and I can’t remember where we were but a reporter is interviewing Dan on the Eagles chances in the playoffs the year they won. Great times.

Dan and I worked together as peers at Premier. From the outset of our time together, Dan was always seeking to support his customers in a way that maintained the high standards of ethics and integrity that was core to the Mission of the company. I’m sure that I echo the sentiment of all that new him professionally that Dan was what each of us strived for- a model of a caring and consummate professional who was a true friend and loyal team member. He has left all of us better in many ways.

Dan, you were a special man, that’s for sure. It was always a sheer pleasure working with you, and you had this way of putting all of our ‘customers’ at ease. You will be missed greatly. My most sincere condolences to you Christine, and the family. I pray the Lord wraps His loving arms around you and brings peace to your minds, and comfort to your hearts.

Dan was that guy everyone loved. He met my husband on a couple of occasions and he made him feel they’d been friends for years. That was just Dan’s good heart. May your wonderful memories sustain you in this time of painful grief. Dan certainly talked about his wife & kids all the time! So so sorry for the huge loss of this sweet man.
