Adelaide Adams Obituary

ADELAIDE M. ADAMS
KEENE, NH - Adelaide Marie (Sundermann) Adams, 88, of Trumansburg, NY, passed away on April 1, 2010 in Keene, NH.
She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on July 25, 1921, the daughter of Herman and Louise (Armsheimer) Sundermann. She graduated from the A. B. Davis High School and attended Washington School for Secretaries in New York City.
She worked for the Hanover Bank & Trust Co. and Crowell, Collier & MacFadden Publishing Co. until her marriage to Franklin Ward Adams on September 7, 1946. Her family lived in Carle Place on Long Island, and then in Gibsonia, PA. In 1958 they settled in Pelham Manor, NY, where she was a member, Deacon and Trustee in the Huguenot Presbyterian Church, and was a Den Mother loved by all the Cub Scouts who went through her home. They retired to Trumansburg, NY in 1984, where she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was President of the Garden Club and Tree Commission for a number of years. She was an active gardener, a skilled seamstress, and knit many beautiful creations. She also loved her youthful days spent at Oak Beach on Long Island.
She is survived by her sons: Jeff Adams of Keene, NH and Keith Adams of Brighton, MI; and three grandchildren: Ian, Rebecca and Katherine. She is predeceased by her husband, who died in 1985; and by her brother, Robert.
Services will be held at The Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY on Monday, April 12, at 1:00.
Gifts may be made in Mrs. Adam's memory to your local Humane Society.
Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Keene, is in charge of the arrangements.
