Denise Knight Obituary

DENISE DIANE SEELY KNIGHT
Denise Diane Seely Knight, born December 18, 1969, passed away surrounded by loved ones in her home June 17, 2009, following a brief illness. Denise was an outgoing individual who always had the ability to generate laughter in those around her with enthusiastic humor. She was a compassionate, nurturing and independent woman who selflessly shared anything she had, even in times when she had little to give.
A devoted mother who always put her children first: Richard Knapp, Shasta Savage, Michael Meigs, Quintina Knight; her stepsons, Eric and Julian Savage; and her cherished dog, Bugsy, will always be touched by her everlasting love.
Denise encompassed all aspects of being a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her parents, Nancy and Edmund Hare; her siblings, Julie Seely, Peter Seely, Sue Albrecht, Maria Manger, Sarah Crawford, Angela Long, Jacalyn Niño and Llewellyn Seely; as well as her granddaughters, Makennah and Mercedes. She is also survived by William Savage, who has always played an influential role in the lives of all her children. She will be dearly missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 22nd, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Flowers are appreciated; however, the Denise Knight Memorial Fund has also been set up for donations which will benefit her children.

To: My cousin Nancy & Ed, Denise's Children & Friends

I remember Denise as a very young child. Time has really passed. She sounds like a very happy person in her adult life. I'm sure she will be missed by many. My heart goes out to Nancy to have to bury a child. We have to be comforted knowing she is in a better place. Please find peace in all your happy memories. God Bless you all. Love, Dolores

To My Aunt...I wish I could say it will get easier and as time passes there will be days that are easier. I wish I could help you understand, no parent should have to bury their child and 10 years ago I was where you are now. Believe in your faith and find peace that Denise is in a wonderful place and is with numerous family and friends and my son. They are in a glorious place with no pain or sickness..they know only love and joy. They are our guardian Angels and for this we are blessed. Believe and enjoy the grandchild that she has brought into your life..live, laugh and love..that is what both our children would want. Remember this is a celebration of a new life for Denise and what a wonderful life it must be.

God Bless and All My Love.

I am so sad to hear that Denise has passed. I remember when she was little carring her blanket about and wanting to follow her sister Julie and I all around. Then taking a computer class with her in 1996. She was such a joy to be around, always happy and making me laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. God bless you Denise.

We met and became close friends in 1988 when we both lived at Covered Bridge Apartments. We supported each other through graduations, birth of children, broken relationships and broken dreams. We shared good times more than anything (especially the birth of my Godson, Michael) and talked on the phone sometimes for hours about how to better ourselves and how to make our children's lives better. Importantly, we kept each other's secrets without ever telling a soul....we shared a REAL friendship...others' rarely share that kind of friendship...we were blessed indeed to know one another. We never stopped searching for the answers to life's sometimes impossible questions. On our journey, we lost touch with each other for a time, yet, the Universe saw fit to make sure we saw one another one more time before it was time for your departure. What a wonderful reunion that was. Seems like we talked, laughed, and reminesced for hours. We promised to keep in touch after that, yet, we did so more in a telepathic kind of way. I'm grateful that your soul is free, even though I will miss you always. Your Friend, Aqeela Shakur (aka Debbie Slowe)

I was so sorry to hear that Denise had passed. I met her for the 1st time in 1989,when we both lived next door to each other. Over the years, she was always a very kind, and considerate individual with a kind word for everyone she came into contact with. She was always willing to help anyone in need, reguardless of what she had to sacrifice. She will be greatly misses, and will always be in my thoughts.

I have known Denise for most of my life, as she and my mom (Sally) were dear friends. Denise provided so much for my family in times of need, and in times of friendship. I will miss the way Denise made me laugh, as we would sit around her kitchen table to "drink tea and gossip." (In Denise's words!) She will be greatly missed and her memory will be forever cherished. My heart goes out to Shasta, Mike, and Quin. I love you all. God bless.

You are all on my mind and in my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. I have wonderful childhood memories of Denise that I will never forget. One memory is when we took my bike up the hill and with me on the handle bars we rode down until we hit a big rock! Over I went and she had to push me home. We both ended up with several bumps and bruises from that one.
My love to you all.
